Artist's Comments

I've heard there was a category like 'reflections' here on devart, but I couldn't find it. Can you tell me where it is?

Very cool photo. I like how you chose to post the photo itself upsidedown so that the mansion was right side up in the image.

I want to take a photography class. I love taking pictures, but my framing is uninspired, and I'd like to learn some good techniques at recognizing good framing, etc.

Mmm... I'm not sure you can really LEARN framing... it's something you have to FEEL, I guess. But there are a few tips I can give you - things I learned from my teacher:
- when you're photographing something that has a nice reflection, don't cut the reflection in half. Show the whole reflection. In case of a tree, you may even show only part of the original tree, but show the whole of its reflection
- when there are long lines (like the flat top of a building or a narrow garden path), make sure they end at one of the corners of the photo.
